El Jefe

**This is the tenth of the ’25 days of Christmas’ drawing.  Find post with rules here**   100 Word Review

size: 5×48 Robusto

This cigar has everything aesthetic I could ask for:  a solid rectangular box press, beautiful dark brown wrapper, and a western style “Wanted: Dead or Alive” band.  Puerto Rican filler and binder with a Brazilian maduro wrapper, this is right up my alley.  My first sniff told me I was in for a deep earthy flavor cigar.  It lit and burned even, everything was perfect so far.  Everything except for that I hated the taste.  I know what it was trying to do, and it did it well, there was some profile changes but mainly earthy and it just is not a cigar for me.

  1. Interesting, but brief, read. I find that most PR smokes are earthly and one dimensional as well.

  2. Thats too bad, I have heard things about El Jefe.
